Real Time Analytics is now out of the Beta stage and available in your Google Analytics Dashboard.
I just love this feature, it allows you to track who is on your site and what they are viewing in Real time.
You may be getting more engagement on Social Networks then you think.
I have placed posts with a link to my site on Facebook, with what appears as no interaction from my customers, but a quick view of my Google Analytics Real time shows otherwise. I have tested this also with Blog posts, twitter tweets, and a One day sale campaign.
Real-Time allows you to monitor visitor activity as it happens on your site. The reports are updated continuously and each page view is reported seconds after it occurs. For example, you can see:
- how many people are on your site right now,
- their geographic locations,
- the traffic sources that referred them, and
- which pages they’re viewing.
Accessing Real-Time Data
Real-Time is available in all Google Analytics accounts. No changes to the tracking code are necessary.
To see Real-Time data for a web property, navigate to the Reporting tab and select Real-Time from the left hand report navigation column.
Try it out you may be pleasantly surprised.
